April 8th was the second Absolute Dream Package, so I decided to try and win it again. There were only 316 players this time, which was almost half of what they had the first time. I thought, “wow what a deal this is”.

Everyone starts with 5,000 in chips, so there is no big hurry or need to take big risks early on.

Forty five minutes into the tourney I get ace-jack in first position. The blinds are 40-80 and I just limp in. 3 people in the pot. Flop comes Ace-2-6 so I bet 200. LIKE TO GAMBLE raises to 500, and I call. I figure I’m ahead in this pot even though GAMBLE raised, but I’m playing it cautiously. The turn brings a three. I check, Gamble bets 800, and I call. The river is a jack, giving me top two pair. I check, GAMBLE bets 800 and I call. Bad move here on my part.

I should have either bet out at the pot or check raised after he bet.

Anyway, he shows ace-ten and my two pair win. That puts me to about 6,600 in chips. I hover around 6,000 for the next hour and a half, then I flop two pair from the big blind and almost double up when someone calls my bets all the way through the hand.

A few hands later I’m around 11,300 in chips and get Ace hearts- Ace spades in late position.

The blinds are 200-400 with a 50 ante. I raise to 1,200 and get one caller-TAXIHO. JACK clubs-5 clubs-2 diamonds flop. TAXIHO bets 800 and link alternatif pokerace99. I make a hefty raise to 3,500 to price out any straight or flush draws. He calls. 9 hearts on the turn and he only has 2800 left, so that’s what I bet. He calls and flips up ACE clubs-10 clubs. He has 4 clubs to the flush. The river is a spade and he’s out. I win 8,000 pot. About 2 and a half hours into the tourney and I’m at 18,400 in chips. I get ACE-10 of spades and raise a little. CLAIRVOYANCE goes all-in. I think for a minute then decide to call (he only had 10 times the big blind). He shows ACE-QUEEN. Nothing helps either of us until the river. I spike a ten, but that gives him a straight. Knocks me back to 13,000 in chips.

A half hour later I’m down to 8,200– blinds are 500-1000 with 75 ante.

CLAIRVOYANCE raise to 4,000. I look down to see two black fives. Time to gamble, cause I’m a short stack. I go all in. My fives hold against his ACE-KING. I’m back to 18,370. Then I make a couple raises with ACE-JACK and get no callers.

I’m up to 23,000. Next, I call a 2,700 raise in the big blind with 4-5 offsuit. Flop comes A-2-4. Other guy bets 2,400, I call. 7 on the turn and it goes check-check.

I hit my card on the river. A three for the straight.

I bet 4,800 and he folds. I’m kind of surprised here. He had twice the chips I had. A big turn bet and I’m probably folding. But I think the Ace on the flop scared him (plus I kept calling his bets). Now I’m at 28,000 at the 3 hour mark. Next I get Qspades-Kdiamonds. I raise to 4,800.
